Tuning the web

At some point in the next few days I've got a couple of jobs today. Properly tune up the Cobwebb antenna and run some new coax up into the loft and to the Hustler 6-BTV in the garden.

I've borrowed the clubs antenna analyser again and didn't like what I saw. (I must get one for myself as I seem to use this quite a bit at the moment and if I'm going to be making a few more antennas then one would be useful. Either one like th clubs which is a MJF one or a mini vna that'll plug into the netbook). All of the bands aren't quite resonant where they should be, most of them are way down the band and exhibit swrs around 2:1 in completely the wrong place and 10:1 where you need them. Some garage based tinkering is in order then. Because the tapping points have already been made it'll be necessary to adjust either the loop back or the air gap to get the right resonance. I imaging that this will be quite a time consuming job and will have at least one tantrum as I adjust one element and upset another. Contrary to how this sounds I actually quite enjoy this part of homebrew antennas as it  is very satisfying to finish off a job and be happy with your creation.
